By integrating Generative AI tools, this new fund builds on H2O AM’s long-standing expertise and further enhances the asset management company’s behavioural finance acumen.
Based on a global macro and top-down approach, the company’s historical expertise, its objective will be to outperform the ESTER daily rate +2.00% per year*1 over a recommended investment horizon of 3 years (PRIIPS SRI 3).
Actively managed, this new vehicle will be able to invest in a wide range of asset classes, including bonds (sovereign and corporate), equities and currencies, with a moderate level of risk (VaR below 10%). Generative Global Macro is not a thematic fund dedicated to artificial intelligence.
The internal Generative AI tools (the Sensor and the Mirror) developed by H2O AM are not intended to generate signals, transactions or portfolio allocations, but rather to support the management team’s reflection and analysis, without ever replacing human decisions. More specifically, these tools address two key aspects of the portfolio management process:
• Broadening external research, via the Sensor, which facilitates the analysis of vast volumes of comments, research and macroeconomic publications in order to quickly identify dominant themes and reasoning, potential blind spots and market consensus dynamics.
• Identifying internal behavioural biases, via the Mirror, by studying H2O AM’s macro and market meetings. Its value lies in its objective ability to challenge convictions, enrich internal debate and improve the quality of decisions, acting as a behavioural mirror for discretionary management.
“Generative Global Macro does not represent a paradigm shift, but rather a natural evolution,” says Timothée Consigny, Head of GenAI Innovation at H2O AM. “Our tools do not replace the expertise of portfolio managers, but rather complement it by increasing our analytical capabilities and making internal investment discussions even more relevant through the analysis of cognitive biases.
“The value we derive from generative AI comes from the way our investment teams use it. Our ambition is to combine rigour, innovation and human judgement to best serve our clients’ objectives,” notes Vincent Chailley, Chief Investment Officer of H2O AM Group and H2O Monaco SAM.
As announced in October 2025, H2O AM created a steering committee dedicated to generative AI, responsible for defining and overseeing governance related to the use of these new tools.
